Child Development

Speech Source Therapy, Inc., is designed to enhance the child’s development, to provide support and assistance to the family, and to maximize the child’s and family’s benefit to society. Our comprehensive approach is based upon known principles of growth and development. We make use of different activities to enhance progress in each of the basic developmental domains; i.e., cognitive, fine/gross motor, communication, adaptive skills and social-emotional development.

Our goal is to better the lives of infants and toddlers who have a disability or who are considered high risk for developing a disability. The Child Development Specialist use an individualized curriculum and intervention plans according to the child’s specific needs.

Child Development Infant- Toddler Program

Child Developmental Specialists (CDS’s) are professionals who have a BA/BS or MA/MS in child development, psychology, education, communication disorders, counseling, or any other related field.

If the Child Development Specialist does not have a degree in child development, s/he must accrue 12 units of child development coursework OR a minimum of one year experience in a field of early childhood.

Our Child Development Specialists provide consultations, assessments, evaluations, and therapy to children who have developmental delays and difficulties in the areas of cognitive development, gross/fine motor development, communication, adaptive skills and social-emotional development.

Our Teletherapy Services Have Been Very Successful

"My four-year-old son Elijah was diagnosed with Autism at two years old. He has been attending Speech Source Therapy for over a year and a half now. Irene was amazing with assisting us in starting his services right away. Since the beginning we were very happy with the support and therapy he received! Once the covid-19 pandemic hit my husband and I were worried about how we would continue to get him the help he needed. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to give teletherapy a shot.
